Median prices of Sydney suburbs

What? Median price is the midway point of all the houses/units sold at market price over a set period (eg monthly, yearly, quarterly). If there were 101 houses sold during the month, the median house price would be the house price in the middle i.e., that has 50 house prices above it and 50 house prices below it.

Articles of Sydney property prices

  1. Sydney home prices fall by biggest margin in 36 years: 2 Jan 19

Prices

From #1, Avg Sydney home costs $808,494 (same as Aug 2016) according to CoreLogic Hedonic Home Value Index

A big litmus test for the market would come in February when it would become clear whether more homeowners would decide to list their homes.  “If more people list, prices could continue to fall but if homeowners decide to hold off the market will be a lot different. It’s hard to say which way it will go.”
